Planning An Event?

Event Team

Susan Marie Cook, Founder/Planner

Although I was born in GA, I’ve called NC home the majority of my life. My husband brings the spontaneity to my life as my “type A” personality would choose to never veer far from my daily schedule. I must also give credit to my kids, Austin & Cate, for teaching me how to roll with the punches when the master plan is destroyed before ever getting started.

A planner by nature, event planning truly became a passion for me in college as Event Coordinator for my sorority. I enjoy the unique characteristics of each event. Some clients choose traditional styles while others go the with a more modern aesthetic. From the big picture to the smallest of details, every element plays a part in determining the ambience of your event. Our role is to ensure all the pieces come together to create a series of moments you’ll cherish for a lifetime to come.

Gillian Dobbins, Planner

Gillian was born and raised in Greensboro, NC, and has been in the event and wedding business profession for more than 7 years.  In May 2011, she graduated cum laude from University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a B.A. in Hospitality Management and a minor in Business Administration.  Gillian is a Certified Wedding Planner and her goal is attend to every detail to make your wedding flawless.  You can always find Gillian with a smile on her face and will never question she truly enjoys what she does. Her favorite part of event planning? Interacting with new people and always exploring new and innovative ideas. You can find Gillian working full time at the High Point Convention and Visitors Bureau serving as their Group Sales and Services Manager. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, running, going to the gym, spending quality time with her niece, friends and family. No one is a stranger to Gillian and she is always looking for new opportunities and challenges.

Sarah Franzheim, Planner

As a past Coordinated Events bride, Sarah knows first hand how important a wedding day is, not only for the bride and groom, but their families as well. Sarah believes that your day should be as stress free as possible. For her own wedding, Susan Marie and Summer became the champions for her on her wedding day; and in turn Sarah champions for all of her couples, assuring that their wedding is executed well, all while having fun doing it. Sarah is creative, funny, flexible and willing to do whatever it takes to make sure your day goes off without a hitch. When she’s not coordinating events, Sarah enjoys reading, binge watching TV shows on Netflix, and crossfit.

Melanie Grumieaux, Planner  10862687_10152909686900185_3632140482338928317_o

In the summer of 2012, I joined the Coordinated Events family as an intern, while obtaining my degree in event management at UNCG. Having a degree in event management gives me the knowledge and background of guest experience and aesthetic perfectionism.

Under the training of Susan Marie and Summer, I’ve learned all the ins and outs that come with making your day amazing. The most valuable thing that I’ve learned as an event planner is make the planning process fun and relaxed for you, the bride. We do the planning, budgeting and coordinating so that you get to focus on the exciting parts of designing your wedding, like: picking beautiful flowers, trying on gorgeous wedding gowns, and selecting the perfect invitation.

When I’m not planning fabulous events, you can find me cooking up new recipes, getting outdoors with my Golden Retriever, Duke, or spending time with friends and family.
